Abit about King Ly Chee:

King Ly Chee was formed in May of 1999 fueled by the fire and passion of a form music called hardcore. In 1999, the music climate of Hong Kong was an unhealthy world of cover bands passing themselves off as “hardcore” or “metal” while belting out tunes by Limp Bizkit. The founder of King Ly Chee, Riz, had enough and one day, he decided that it was time that someone set the record straight on what “hardcore” truly implies. He set off on the mammoth task by releasing a bilingual zine called Start From Scratch that included interviews, essays and CD reviews of world-renown punk, metal and hardcore bands. As the wheels were turning for Start From Scratch, Riz sat back and realized that words were not enough, kids in Hong Kong needed to hear, feel and see “hardcore” in action to fully absorb the impact. King Ly Chee was the result.
 
They’ve toured all around the world including Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Macau, Philippines, Bali and Hong Kong.
 
King Ly Chee has come this far simply on their own conviction to turn the world on to their music and message. In this world of underground aggressive music that are seemingly overrun by American bands and labels, any Asian band can speak about the struggles they face in getting their voices heard.

Down to the point, each of these guys have their own story and track record to prove why they are so well known in the dance community in Australia.

Don
Don is an original member of the longest standing and active Bboy Crews in Australia. Hailing from the Western Suburb of Mt. Druitt, Sydney, Don has been Bboying since March 2000. Specializing in Toprocks and Footwork, his breathtaking musicality mixed with his blazing love and passion for sharing his gifts with others has established himself as one of the most recognized and respected Bboys in Australia today.
Don, with his exceptional performance, was the first Bboy ever to get straight through to the Top 100 in So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2008 and did it again in 2009, this time making it to the Top 40 contestants. In 2010, with the 3rd Season of SYTYCD Australia, Don auditioned one last time and this time made it to the Top 20.
Over the years, Don and his Bboy crew/Hip Hop dance group Lemmings have accumulated numerous major titles under their belt. Some of which include 2007 Australian Bboy Championships, 1st place in Elite Dance Competition 2002, Groove Dance Challenge 2002 & 2005, Kick Up The Dust 2001 & 2005, Battlegrounds Inter-state 2004, Dancekool Vol.9, Platform Hiphop Festival 2009, Encryption Bboy Champs 2009, Shadow Warz 1 on 1 Bboy Battles (2nd Place) and also represented Australia at the WORLD BBOY CHAMPIONSHIPS at Las Vegas in August 2009. He has also made appearances and choreographed for the Urban Music Awards, Big Day Out, DMX, A1GP with Ricki Lee Coulter, Disney Channel, Nike, Red Bull and Sony Playstation 3.

Nao
NAO has been doing Hip Hop dancing since 1996. He was born in Japan and experienced some TV shows, competitions, was a artist back dancer and did a lot of club’s showcase in Japan 1996-2005.
NAO moved to Australia in 2005. Choreographer of “So You Think You Can Dance Aus”. Singer Marvin Priest “Own This Club” promotion video dancer.
Nao is the frontman for one of Sydney’s most respected street dance crews, Dilated NU. In mid-2011 they were invited to Tonga for a series of special performances at various youth and community events. They were brought as part of the special Japan-Tonga cultural exchange to increase awareness, acceptance and understanding of each other’s cultures through street dance.

Artist Biography:
Mostasho is a Mexican folkloric illustrator and graphic designer lover culture of their country and their food. Influenced by many characters as Cerriteño, Ollervides, Rafahu, Moreno, A. Gutierrez, Mcbess, Safa, to name a few. Fan of color, textures, pens, blankpages, beer, vodka, cigarrettes, music, women, tattoos, sugar skulls, art toys, any wacom, sun galsses, night and an even longer etc.

1. You mentioned that you actually didn’t know what a cult movie was, are you going to watch The Rocky Horror show now that it’s helped you win our first Cult Films battle?
Yes really wasn’t aware on what it was really, google just gave me the idea I need. As for watching the show, definitely! I’m really planning to know more about it because I would like to make another illustration for it.

2. What is your favourite genre of film?
I don’t have a fav genre but I definitely dig Action, Comedy and SciFi movies. I’m also into indie films.

3. Most of your illustrations in your portfolio are of demons and beasts, what do you like about drawing this creatures?
I like to draw them because it gives me no boundaries on how to illustrate based on my mind. I just draw whatever I can think of. But aside from demons and beast, I’ll be illustrating more animals and religious symbols in the near future so be sure to check out my folio soon.

4. Finally, after already appearing in our OG series, you’re becoming a bit of a T&H regular. Do you plan to enter some more of our battles in future?

We learnt things from tweaking artworks on the computer to the dot structures of each design, from printing the films to choosing the screens, from selecting colours and inks to shooting the film onto screens, and the final step of printing the designs onto t-shirts. That’s the whole process in a nutshell, but there are so many details inbetween that only taking a class in person can teach. We definitely recommend contacting Arcade Screen Printing for anyone that would like to learn from a professional screen printer that practices his techniques daily.
